Upland is a metaverse-oriented game that has players buy, trade, and develop parcels of land that are based on real world locations. 
Developed by the Palo Alto based eponymous company, Upland runs on the EOS blockchain.
The core of Upland is real estate purchasing and exchange on a basis vaguely similar to Monopoly. 
Each user tries to climb the social ladder by improving their status, property portfolio and of course, overall net worth.

There are several cities from the US only currently available in the game, with others being rolled out over time. 
NFT collecting, treasure hunts, and other events are also present in the game. 
Upland has recently introduced football teams where users can mint players and even participate in live events and get player NFTs and various other rewards.
