    • Previously it was just Left aligned text and added leading zeros.

  • Minor update
  • Some users (two) have reported the high frequency shiftIn function does not work fully with some micro-controller boards at high frequency(ESP32 240Mhz) and the fix is minor adjustment to sequence in said function. Never saw the issue in my testing. The change makes the function sequence similar to the official Arduino shiftIn function structure in the Arduino Core (wiring.shift.c) , See issue 16 on github for full details.

  • Closed Issue 1 and 2 on github by adding support for high frequency MCU, such as ESP32 The constructor of all models has a new parameter if set to true the code uses a custom "shiftin" function

• Version 1.4.0 Feb 2020
  • "beginDisplay" method added. This will break backward compatibility, This had to be done as the pinmodes functions where removed from the class constructor. The update for 1.4.0 to for users projects is simple, simply add "beginDisplay()" function call to "setup" as per example files.
  • Two new example files added.
  • Tested on Nodemcu ESP-12E ESP2866. it works.

  • Patch to deal with issue number 3 on github dealing with swapped displays on some modules(model 2) with different wiring, See Note A in readme
  • Removed ASCII font to a separate file for efficiency purposes as it was duplicated in both header files.
  • Memory footprint decrease for Model 2 library by using Progmem for the ASCII font file data as per Model 1.
