Storymap Series Versions Save

This is a stabilization release.

Note: Classic Esri Story Maps templates are in extended support on ArcGIS Online as of September 2021 and mature support on ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1. For the latest information on the transition from classic Esri Story Maps to ArcGIS StoryMaps, click here.

This is a minor release

This release corresponds with the July 2020 release of ArcGIS Online.

Changes

• Add dojo configuration for pages to load more than 16 webgl contexts (vector tile layers, for instance)
• Add support for storyteller user type
• Fix layer visibility for some feature layers on maps created in the 4x Map Viewer beta app on ArcGIS Online
• Add a UI option for ArcGIS Online embedded apps shared across organizations to use the same domain as the parent app, to facilitate a better single-sign-in experience
• Remove Hindi language support
• Add Ukrainian language support

Technical Changes

• Updated the ArcGIS API for JavaScript version 3.33

This is a minor release containing an enhancement and some bug fixes.

Enhancement

• In accordion view, navigating to a section now scrolls that section into view (including when using url parameters to directly load that section)

Fixes

• Map legends should be displayed on the first tab
• Section numbers in accordion layout should no longer wrap
• Improve the way a mainstage map acts when using the embed bar
• Make image upload dimensions and file sizes consistent across apps
• Configuring locate action in Builder now correctly switches back to map
• Popups on mapservice layer behave better

Technical Changes

• Updated the ArcGIS API for JavaScript to version 3.26
• Change to asynchronous amd loading in dev mode (to work with updated Dojo in jsapi 3.26)

This release includes a few new features and bugfixes.

• HTML view added to text editor to allow for custom HTML and easier custom styling
• Enhanced accessibility with keyboard navigation, landmarks, alternative text, better color contrasts for default theme
• Embed bar
• Vimeo and YouTube videos support start and end time parameters

This is a minor release containing some visual improvements and bug fixes.

Enhancements

• Gradient fill effect has been removed from the main stage background, and some main stage background colors have been adjusted
• Increased the space allocated to the active section in Side Accordion layout in some situations

Fixes

• Autoplay controls are now visible for Shared Themes that use white as the header background color
• Addressed a video layout issue caused by a change in the Vimeo embeddable player
• Several localization issues have been addressed

Technical

• Updated to JSAPI 3.23
• Added Slovenian language support

This is a minor release with several bug fixes.

• Improvements in configured popups for certain layer types
• Addressed several issues with the expansion control on side panel images
• More than 50 uploaded images are now shown in the image picker
• Increased number of Flickr images shown in an album from 100 to 500
• An issue with cookies has been addressed that eliminates several unexpected login prompts and redirect loops.

  • Readers get a message when JavaScript is not enabled in the browser (via a <noscript> tag).

• Stories created from a web map no longer try to access that original web map if it has been removed from the story
• Stories that have been modified after being shared with everyone no longer have broken side panel images (BUG-000104841)
• Uploaded photos
• Photos with certain special characters no longer fail to upload
• Several issues with internationalization have been addressed

Technical Changes

• JSAPI always loads via https to take advantage of http2
• URL shortening now uses a service hosted by Esri
