5.1 Varri

🪨 Long Release

This release is only available on Long (5) branches (sodalite/long-5/<arch>/<edition>).

You should opt to stick with the latest release on the Current branch and avoid sticking with an older version. However, if that release is causing problems (e.g. problematic drivers, outdated packages, update conflicts you are unwilling to resolve currently, etc.), 5.x will continue to be updated until its end-of-life. At that point, it is vital you update to a more modern version.

See README ➔ Branches ➔ Long for more information.

✨ What's New?

  • Improved Flatpak remote enabling during migration
  • Added channel branch to appropriate fields in os-release
  • Added nudo ("Normal User Do") CLI tool
    • Acting as an opposite of sudo, this allows calling commands as the normal user ($SUDO_USER) from sudo
  • Improved build/release process of Sodalite
    • Because of this, it was deemed necessary to release another version of Sodalite in such a short space of time since 4 Nubia
