Our website, developed using the MERN stack, serves as a pivotal platform striving to swiftly connect organ donors with individuals urgently requiring organs. Through a robust array of filtering options and integrated connection mediums within the site, we aim to expedite this critical process. Our primary goal is to save lives by establishing a dependable network where donors can contribute while those in need find avenues to fulfill their requirements. We are dedicated to creating a reliable and efficient ecosystem that facilitates life-saving opportunities for both donors and recipients

💡 Why did we build this ?

The primary goal is to address the critical shortage of organs available for transplantation. Building such a platform aims to bridge the gap between donors and recipients, helping save lives in the process . Creating an online platform makes it easier for both donors and recipients to connect. It enhances accessibility to potential donors and provides a centralized place for those in need to find suitable matches . Ultimately, the fundamental motivation behind building this platform is to save lives. By facilitating connections between donors and recipients in need of organs, the platform aims to be a catalyst for life-saving opportunities and contribute positively to society.

🛠️ Local Development

This environment is fully on your computer and requires each dependency (for example MongoDB) to be installed and set up, but it gives you the most flexibility for customisation.

Prerequisites

Before contributing or adding a new feature, please make sure you have already installed the following tools:

• NodeJs
• MongoDB (v6+)

Commands

You can set this up locally with the following steps , its divided into two parts server and client side setup to be exact :

• copy the .env.example file inside the server folder to .env in the same folder and update any details required
• MongoDb is Required , You can use Docker for setting up too

⭐SERVER SETUP

Navigate to server folder using , cd server then:

• npm install
• npm start or nodemon app.js

⭐CLIENT SETUP

Navigate to server folder using , cd client then:

• npm install
• npm run dev

⚠️ Make sure mongodb is installed and env is setup properlly
