Path of Exile UI and QoL overlay. Emphasizes ease of use, minimalist design, and seamless integration.

notepad: fixed an oversight that caused segmented widgets to show their content twice (reported by KKata via Discord)
notepad: fixed an oversight where color-coding a string would move a colon within that line into the color coded string
partially redesigned the map-info panel
the panel's division into categories is now marked by icons rather than text-headers
added support for T17 drop-multipliers added in 3.24.1: maps, scarabs, currency
added a mod search to the settings menu to enable highlight customization outside of the panel itself
added optional map roll highlighting (quant, rarity, etc.) to let you specify required/desired values
re-worded and/or consolidated certain map mods

map-info: some T17 mods were tagged incorrectly and therefore weren't displayed on the panel
map-info: added support for T17 changes added in 3.24.1
item-info: unique item-mods that have non-numeric rolls (e.g. on Forbidden Shako, Replica Dragonfang's Flight) will now be excluded just like static mods so they will no longer be treated as a 0% roll
leveling tracker: resetting the guide-progress via the timer or by long-clicking the <
button would always reset the first guide-slot instead of the active one
necropolis lantern: certain mods that change their wording at 100% chance would not be recognized (e.g. "50% chance to hinder enemies on hit with spells" -> "Hinder enemies on hit with spells")
necropolis lantern: improved how mod-dragging is handled
tldr-tooltips: fixed an issue with the "+50000 to armor" searing exarch altar-mod that would make the entire scan fail
hover over the center of the mod-list, then tap the hotkey to open the TLDR-tooltip
hover over individual mods and press number-keys 1-5 to add colored highlighting, or press SPACE to remove it

item-info: fixed "global unique" drop-tier being displayed as "0000 unique"
necropolis lantern highlighting: workaround for yet another in-game UI inconsistency (reported by EmmettJayhart in #369)
the enter
button renders its text differently depending on the length of the lantern list, which makes the screen-check fail
the overlay now measures the in-game UI differently and doesn't need a secondary screen-check
the overlay now creates an additional (but invisible) box around the enter button, and every click within that box will close the overlay
leveling tracker: changing rooms in lab will no longer un-hide the guide overlay
settings menu: specifying active character
in the general tab would sometimes not fetch available characters immediately but instead wait for the next level-up
leveling tracker: lower bound of exp safe-zone could go below 1
added two additional guide "slots" to support seamlessly switching between multiple guides (suggested by darkscion0 in #249 and neomanyouth in #364)
each slot has its own guide, progress, gear, skill-trees, and leveling timer
optional: you can add a description/name to each slot so you don't get them mixed up
clicking a number panel will switch to that slot and update the guide-overlay (if it's on screen)
there is an inconsistency with the plaque at the top of the in-game UI, so its image-check has to be updated
fixed an oversight for UltraWide setups beyond the officially supported aspect-ratio
fixed an oversight for mods that are modified with "strongest monster in the pack gains:"
added support for mods that were recently added
added the ability to color-code individual text strings (suggested by KKata via Discord)
to color-code a text string, select the text and right-click it to open the color palette
after selecting a color, the RGB-code will be added to the string automatically (and the corresponding widget will be updated if it is on screen)
added a custom snipping tool to replace the Windows Snipping Tool (because it is often inconsistent across OS versions and causes problems)
it's quite basic for now and isn't really different from the regular Windows tool: the screen will show a freeze-frame, and you can drag the cursor to snip an area
however, you can also use right-click to snip an area: this doesn't immediately snip the screen but allows further adjustment
the marked area will stay on screen until you confirm the snip by pressing space
you can redraw the area by dragging with right-click again
you can use the WASD-keys to move the area in single-pixel increments, or shift + WASD to resize it

Leveling Tracker: fixed hint-images being misplaced on specific multi-monitor setups
added support for 3.24 exile-leveling guides
side-note: my labeling is not always 100% technically correct, but instead it focuses on easier mod recognition/association by using short labels
"hits ignite" -> "ignite conflux" (no overlap, but there are now multiple mods that can be loosely associated with "conflux", so I'm changing this one)
"taunt/slow immune" -> split into two separate labels (T17s have a new stun/slow immune hybrid mod)
"curse resist" -> "less curse effect" (T17s have a "reduced curse effect" mod, so there has to be a distinction)
General Information:
this is another experimental feature based on OCR (screen-reading, basically), just like the TLDR-Tooltips
it lets you add custom highlighting to the modifiers applied by the lantern
I'm adding this mostly to test general OCR compatibility, it's usefulness is secondary
providing feedback would speed up further OCR implementations, which in turn enables optimizations in different parts of the tool
so if you're even mildly interested in this feature, please try it out and report back (especially if you use a non-English Windows installation)
what makes this a good candidate is that it requires very little user interaction: you only have to click the omni-key once, then interact with the league-mechanic as usual
Required Setup / Settings Menu:
as with TLDR-Tooltips, general OCR compatibility has to be tested before this feature can be enabled
you have to screen-cap a small part of the character-stats window and transcribe 8 words from it
TLDR-Tooltips and this feature share this setup, so you don't have to do it twice
this feature has its own section in the settings menu
this feature requires two screen-checks: one for the plaque at the top of the lantern UI, one for the enter
button at the bottom
it uses the additional screen-check to automatically measure the height of the UI and how many mods can be on it
the first screen-check requires a bit more precision than usual because its bottom-left corner is used as an anchor for the individual colored overlays (however, you can also apply offsets in the settings menu)
General Usage:
open the in-game lantern UI, press the omni-key
recognized mods will be highlighted white by default, empty boxes black
if a text-box is covered with a black overlay, the scan failed and you may have to re-scan
there is a debugging option in the settings for situations where scans repeatedly fail
hover over a mod and press number-keys 1 to 5 to apply customizable colors, or press space to reset to default
the overlay also tracks mods if you rearrange them
however, it only supports dragging them, and single clicks will be completely blocked
there is a very short delay between clicking and the game registering the drag, but I don't think you have be super careful, just make sure you don't flick your mouse immediately after clicking
the enter
button at the bottom of the in-game UI will also be highlighted: clicking it to enter the zone will also close the overlay

tweaked the regex for sacrifice support to avoid also matching the new sacred wisps support
mapping tracker: moved the league-content reminder from right-clicking portal scrolls to pressing the new portal scroll hotkey
mapping tracker: default color for necropolis was missing
Betrayal-Info: updated rewards
Horizons-Tooltip: updated atlas data
Item-Info: added support for mechanical belts
GENERAL REMINDER: IT'S POSSIBLE SCREEN-CHECKS (usually pixel-checks) NEED RECALIBRATION AFTER A MAJOR GAME PATCH, SO DON'T PANIC IF THE OMNI-KEY SUDDENLY DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE. SIMPLY TEST THE CHECKS AND RECALIBRATE IF NECESSARY.
GLHF!
leveling tracker: when transitioning zones after completing the campaign, the guide-overlay wouldn't stay hidden until you disabled the leveling tracker completely
TLDR-tooltips: screenshots are now taken from the client instead of the screen, which means overlays will no longer potentially block text since they won't be captured
Leveling Tracker: Effective Exp Panel
the panel now displays rounded %-values
instead of showing 100%, the e-exp panel now shows min area-level for 100% exp | current area-level | max area-level for 100% exp
100% labeling was redundant since green highlighting already implies the same
the min
and max
values represent the range in which you gain 100% effective exp, so these can now be used to gauge your leveling pace and make adjustments if necessary/preferred
example (lvl 13 character in a lvl 16 zone): 10 | 16 | 16
, so advancing to a lvl 17 area without leveling up first would apply the first (minor) exp-penalty (92% effective exp gained)
when in a hideout or town, the middle value will show current char-level
instead of current area-level
, so for the example above: 10 | 13 | 16
to be analogous to the values above, the panel (when below 100%) now refers to the area-level, not your own
62% (-2)
previously meant that you were 2 levels below the threshold, but now it will display 62% (+2)
, meaning that the current area is 2 levels above the 100% thresholdLeveling Tracker: Gem-Regex
changed gem-regex strings a bit to reduce the risk of bricking after league launch
they're now a bit longer but more precise, which should prevent false matches with updated/new gem texts (this happened to 2 gems last league)

screen-checks
section didn't turn red to indicate that the inventory
pixel-check needs to be calibrated if shift-clicking is enabled for the map/item-info features
General: Option to "black out" unused screen area
added an option to fill the screen area between the game client and the edges of the screen when running borderless-windowed mode or custom resolutions (default: disabled)
default | blacked out |
---|---|
this black area is unclickable* and prevents misclicks onto background windows or the desktop if the cursor is not constrained to the game client
*requires feedback: fast movements followed by a click onto the area (kind of like "flick-shots" in an FPS) will register nonetheless and very briefly activate the window, but the script will automatically re-focus the game client in that event
it can be used to place overlays outside the game client while keeping visual clarity and preventing misclicks
the area will automatically hide if the game client is not focused, so it will disappear when ALT-Tabbing or when you tap the Windows-key
Leveling Tracker: effective exp / safe zone
lvl 2 char in lvl 6 zone, 1 lvl below safe zone | lvl 12 char in lvl 6 zone, 3 lvls above safe zone |
---|---|
Updater: Version Handling
since the updater supports rolling back to older versions, prior versions have to be more or less stable (so that users aren't push further and further back until a stable version is found)
this means there might be hotfixed releases/versions in the future, e.g.:
it's basically additional sub-versioning, only more readable (e.g. compared to v1.52.2.1)
there won't be an option to hide update notifications for hotfix releases
the versions listed under available downloads
are not explicitly marked as hotfixed (for readability) because they are by default the most up-to-date live version that contains every fix available at that point
General Information
on-screen eldritch altar mods | TLDR-tooltips with color customization (6 customizable patterns) |
---|---|
this feature is based on OCR (basically screen-reading) capabilities built into Windows 10 and newer
it has its own section in the settings menu and requires initial setup during which compatibility with your system will be tested
it will ask you to screen-cap an image from the game client that contains text, and to transcribe said text
if the setup is successful, the feature can be enabled
Settings
unfortunately, this feature requires its own hotkey (activating it via the omni-key is not viable at the moment)
you also have to specify which key toggle highlighting
is bound to in game (default: Z)
there are six different color patterns (regular, pattern 1-5) whose font and background color can be customized
Usage
once enabled and set up, the hotkey can be tapped or held to activate the feature
holding the hotkey down will show a white, semi-transparent rectangle that follows the cursor, as well as a centered square
this is the screen-cap area that takes a screen shot of the area underneath as soon as you release the hotkey
while holding the key, you can scroll the mouse-wheel to increase/decrease the area's size (if required)
the small square is supposed to be the size of the altar selection-buttons, so double-check if that's the case on your setup
if you simply tap the key once, the screen-cap is executed without showing the area at all
if you find an altar, simply move the cursor right into the middle of the circle and tap the hotkey
try to put altars near the center of the screen before scanning to avoid also scanning parts of the game-UI
make sure the HP/Mana bars above your character (if enabled) and Clone-Frames are not blocking any text
Tooltip Structure & Behavior
every altar mod has been summarized to only take a single line
if the feature couldn't reliably narrow down the scanned text to a single mod (because of image quality or the text was partially blocked), the tooltip will list every applicable mod and mark it with (?)
, e.g.:
scanned text was "gain x% of physical damage as extra ###### damage" (###### being unrecognizable)
the tooltip will list phys as extra lightning damage (?)
, phys as extra cold damage (?)
holding shift will hide the tooltip for the duration of the key-press
the tooltip can be closed in three different ways: pressing ESC, pressing the hotkey again, or clicking the tooltip itself
pressing the hotkey will send toggle highlighting
first in order to hide loot no the ground and improve scanning accuracy
if there is an error, an error message will be shown inside the tooltip itself
and will persist until it is closed in one of the three ways mentioned above
toggle highlighting
is sent consistently and an even number of timesHighlighting
pattern X

General: Multi-monitor support
Screen-capping
changed how "grouped widgets" work: instead combining every tab into a single widget, you can now divide text in a tab into paragraphs and create a scrollable widget from that
divide a text into paragraphs by inserting lines that only contain a single hash-sign (#
)
drag the tab out, and the widget will only show one paragraph at a time: while holding TAB, hover over it and scroll to switch paragraphs
this also means there can now be more than one scrollable widget on screen
new date-selection
replaced the drop-down list of available dates with a visual breakdown that is more versatile
instead of only displaying runs from a single day, it is now possible to display runs across a longer period of time (e.g. month, year, league)
added a row for totals / percentages / averages
added map-run notes
new optional setting: you can now add custom notes and additional map-stats (used sextant-mods, scarabs, etc.) to individual map runs
if enabled, a notes-icon will appear on the mapping tracker panel that can be clicked to open the notes window
while the window is open, you can type in custom notes into the edit-field at the bottom, or omni-click items such as scarabs or voidstones with applied sextants to add additional information to map-runs
there is a new column in the map-log viewer for notes: click highlighted cells to view notes, right-click them to edit/add notes
search-filter
added a search-filter to only show map-runs with specific characteristics
currently-active keywords will turn into buttons that can be clicked in order to remove them from the filter one by one (screenshot: crimson temple
16
)
this filter applies to the whole log-viewer, not just the currently-active date
the date-selection overview will only show dates with applicable map-runs
clicking the export-button will only export applicable map-runs
how to use the search-filter
entering one or more words will search for map names, e.g. crimson temple
, and entering numbers will search for map-tier/area-level
you can use !
("not") and |
("or") operators to modify keywords, e.g. crimson temple|cemetery, 16
will show crimson temple OR cemetery runs at T16, and cemetery, !16
will show every cemetery run that is not T16
some columns are searchable by using their corresponding operators, e.g. crimson temple, L:apothecary
will only list crimson temple runs where an apothecary dropped
you can click column-headers to paste the corresponding operator into the search-field
column operators can be used on their own to only show runs where the corresponding data was not 0 or blank, e.g. D:
will search for runs where you died at least once
you can now click icons in the content
column to search for specific map-content

added "snap to center" functionality to these UI-elements: alarm/timer widget
, notepad window & widgets
, leveltracker zone-layouts
(horizontal layout)
moving the cursor close to the horizontal center of the client-window while dragging these elements will make them "snap" to it and change their alignment to centered
this allows you to move widgets away from their default centered edge-position without losing centered alignment (e.g. docking them to the exp-bar or moving them from the top to the bottom edge)
changed the color-customization process: instead of tabbing back and forth and copying rgb hex-codes into clipboard, you can now use a color palette to choose a color
the palette has 13 different colors in the center, and each one has 8 additional shades
the current color is marked with an X
, however some default colors are not present on the palette and will not be marked (default colors use slightly different shades and have not changed)
the palette automatically hides when clicking a color-field or when the cursor is moved away from it
added background color-customization for alarm/timer
and notepad
widgets (suggested by Fleymour in #275)
the main guide-overlay is now a movable widget: drag the small white square to move it, right-click it to reset to the default position (bottom edge, centered)
because the main overlay consists of multiple layers and parts, a dummy-overlay with the same dimensions will be dragged instead
once the left mouse-button is released, the main overlay will be moved to the new position
removed the exp-bar offset
setting since the guide-overlay also has "snap to center" functionality and can be moved manually to avoid obstructing the exp-bar
the fade out after x seconds
setting now completely hides the overlay instead of making it very transparent
re-integrated the leveling timer into the main guide-overlay (similar to before v1.50)
it sits between the guide-text and the control-buttons, showing: total time
| current act
| act time
clicking current act
will pause/resume the timer, holding right-click on it will reset the timer and guide-progress (you need to be inside Twilight Strand
to reset)
the gear tracker now opens in the center of the client-window (instead of the center of the bottom edge)
removed the log-viewer's "window title bar" in order to not make it look like a movable window
the main tracker-panel is now a movable widget (while you are in an untracked area), and it also snaps to center: drag the small white square to move it, right-click it to reset to the default position
added a hide the panel when the tracker is paused
setting (default: off, which means the panel is only grayed out)
"paused" refers to the state after right-clicking the maptracker-button on the toolbar, where tracking stops completely until resumed
this is primarily a compatibility setting to improve variable refresh-rate (G-Sync, FreeSync, AdaptiveSync) support by hiding overlays as much as possible
increased the minimum size of the main window (i.e. when the current tab is blank or only has little text)
newly-created tabs will now be automatically selected/activated
widget opacity now ranges from 0 - 5, and 0 makes them completely invisible
this setting only affects widgets while they are inactive (i.e. TAB is not held down), and it doesn't affect the quick-note widget
0 opacity is primarily a compatibility setting to improve variable refresh-rate (G-Sync, FreeSync, AdaptiveSync) support by hiding overlays as much as possible
changing a note now also updates the corresponding widget if it's on screen
this applies once the main window changes, e.g. after closing/resizing it, or (re)selecting a tab
before, you had to re-create the widget by dragging the tab out again
widget color-customization can also be applied to individual tabs: every tab now has two colored buttons to customize text and background color, and the tab itself also uses this color-scheme
fixed a priority conflict between the notepad's grouped widget and the zone-layout widget (leveling tracker) that caused mouse-scrolls to resize the layout widget instead of switching pages (even when hovering over the notepad widget specifically)
fixed an oversight that would delete the quick-note text when toggling the main notepad-window, causing the quick-note widget to be blank if moved again afterwards
fixed an oversight that would cause an error message if you tried to create a widget of a tab whose name contained special characters

v1.50+ is NOT

you can find a quick-start and general usage guide here
if you updated to v1.52.0 within the first hour of it being initially released (Jan 31, 08:30 ~ 09:30 GMT), please reinstall it manually
the updater had a bug that would lead to updates failing
LLK-UI panel & feature-buttons
the LLK-UI panel used to open the settings menu and the individual buttons used to access specific features have been merged into a single, unified toolbar
click the cogwheel button to open the settings, drag it to move the toolbar, right-click it to toggle the toolbar's orientation between horizontal and vertical
long-click the green button to restart the tool, long-click the red button to close the tool
there are options in the settings to resize and permanently hide the toolbar
context/reasoning:
I recently realized that having overlays on screen disables variable refresh-rate support (G-Sync, FreeSync, Adaptive Sync), and I have become hyper-sensitive to it and cannot ignore it anymore
this is the first step to reduce the number of non-critical overlays that are active all the time
Seed-explorer & Updater
the databases for the seed-explorer are no longer included in every release, which reduces their file-size and increases update speed considerably (11.3 vs. 4.2 MB)
the updater now allows switching between release-versions more easily, which also includes rolling back to older versions
the updater now lists available major versions line by line, and each line has buttons to choose the minor version (hovering over a button will show that minor version's summarized changelog), e.g.:
1.53.3
2
1
0
1.52.5
4
3
2
1
0
v1.52.x will be the baseline for now (i.e. you won't be able to go further back than that via the updater)
Notepad: quick-note feature
you can now right-click the notepad-button to create a separate reminder widget
a small window with a single-line edit-field will open
type in your note and press ENTER (pressing ESC or clicking into the game-client will close the window)
the widget has a different style and will be placed at the top edge of the client when created the first time
it behaves the same as regular notepad widgets (hold TAB to activate, drag to move, right-click to remove), but its text is not stored permanently
you can also right-click the notepad button to remove the reminder widget
once moved, the new location will be stored and future reminder widgets will automatically be placed there
I implemented this for situations when "I can do that after this map" things come up that I forget a minute later because of my goldfish memory
Item-info Tooltip
added drop-tiers to uniques, as well as visual indicators for individual and overall roll-percentages (suggested by worldendDominator in #342)
the drop-tiers are based on data provided by poeladder.com: T0 - T5
, limited
(e.g. oni-goroshi), recipe
(e.g. loreweave), league
(e.g. bear's girdle), pinnacle
, boss
, uber
, vaal
the individual roll-percentages are the same as the value represented by the bars underneath the mod texts, the overall percentage represents the sum of all rolls relative to the sum of all minimums/maximums (i.e. how close an item is to having perfect rolls)
highlight-colors:
100% rolls and T0 drops use custom highlighting (red on white)
T1 to T5 drops use the same colors as mod-tiers (customizable in the settings), and these are also used for 99-90, 89-80, 79-70, 69-60, 59-50, 49-0% rolls
added an option to manually invert how specific mod-rolls are highlighted/treated in terms of "are higher or lower rolls better/preferred?"
simply left-click a specific mod-text in the tooltip to invert the bar/calculation, right-click it to reset
Abyssus with default settings:
Abyssus with inverted increased physical damage taken
:
this works for both unique and normal mods, and it replaces some hand-picked custom rules I had created for certain mods in the past (some of which broke at some point)
added a toggle to (un)hide roll-ranges on explicit mods (default: hidden)
fix for error-messages related to the tool's windows/overlays (reported in #324, among others)
item-info tooltip:
anoint recipes didn't show because of an oversight
these recipes will no longer show for corrupted items (since you cannot use extractors on them)
base-percentile roll on uniques wasn't shown if it was 0%
fixed items with mirrored
in the name being highlighted as mirrored
fixed items with map
in the name (e.g. maple round shield) being recognized as maps and triggering the map-info panel instead of the item-info tooltip
fixed multi-line cluster-jewel enchants not being merged correctly
fixed resistance cluster-jewel enchants not being trimmed correctly
map-info:
fixed a rare situation where shift-clicking didn't activate the tooltips if you had not omni-clicked an item at least once before that
fixed an oversight that caused the players have x% reduced effect of non-curse auras from skills
mod to not be shown (reported by FadeDeklin in #341)
mapping tracker:
removed delirium from map-content reminders when activating a portal scroll
fixed blighted/blight-ravaged
maps not being logged as such (introduced in v1.51.2)
leveling tracker: gear-tracker
clear
-button to skip that many items at the end of the remaining list
improved client.txt log-file scanning speed (affects script startup-time, and entering a character name in the settings)
horizons-tooltips: (accidentally) pressing a letter-key that is not used as an initial letter for any map in the current rotation will no longer trigger in-game actions, i.e. that keypress will not be sent to the client
H
instead of G
would open the in-game challenges panellab-overlay: the tooltip that follows your mouse and shows instructions while importing the new layout-data will automatically hide after completing the final step (instead of waiting for you to tab back into the game or hit ESC)
item/map-info: the shift-clicking feature now works with every item that is tagged as currency
in the game, rather than a hand-picked selection that I found most useful
