Big improvements going into 2018!
It's ugly, but it works beautifully. It's officially time to slash off the "beta" suffix! Gopher now has improved performance and is fully automated once launched. No "press enter to begin"! Placing this in your computer's startup folder will give you a fully controller-enabled Windows upon boot. Of course, more stuff is planned in the future, but this release as it stands is the first official non-beta and real-world functional release of Gopher. Yay! More beta releases will come in the future for MAJOR changes, but there's a pretty good chance there will never again be a "beta" text version of Gopher.
Several small things... and one big one! Gopher no longer requires keyboard input to start, it simply has an 8 second countdown instead. It also detects left and right bumpers. The one "big and amazing" new feature is SPEED SELECTION. Pressing the left bumper now cycles through three different speeds, so there's something comfortable for just about everyone. It also has a nice little "Iron Man" sound if you cycle through them fast enough (oops).
Oh, and forgive the "0.96" still in the title, this binary still includes that. Oops! The main.cpp file will include the proper 0.97 in the title.
Gopher now supports right analog scrolling and an improved administrator warning.
Here's Gopher 0.95. The sleep bug has been fixed, a warning was put in place for non-administrator runtime, the code has been cleaned up a bit, the text has been updated, and now all the arrow keys work (oops).
Here's Gopher 0.8! It's fully functional, except for a strange occurrence of some displays intermittently going to sleep while using it. Changing the power settings in Control Panel to 'Never' fixes this on nearly all machines.
