Flamenco Versions Save

Flamenco now runs in production at Blender Institute. There is an extensive list of TODOs available on developer.blender.org, but we are very excited with the progress!

This is the first release of Flamenco! Currently it supports Blender rendering jobs (using BI and Cycles), but it is designed to support a variety of software and tasks, such as compositing, simulation or encoding.

Thanks to its modular structure and simple RESTful API, it can be easily integrated in your pipeline. Make sure you check out the README.md, as it contains important information on how to install and configure Flamenco for the first time.

This is the second release of Flamenco! A few things have changed since the Alpha release, most notably:

• shared storage has been deprecated in favour of dynamic/centralised storage
• more responsive REST communication between all the components
• less steps for initial configuration
• job submission now works with a Blender add-on
• SQLite has been deprecated in favour of MySQL for production (but can still be used for quick and easy setup)

We are still working on the following issues:

• job submission from the dashboard is not working
• detailed logging is not easily accessible in the dashboard
• workers stats are not accessible
