1.6.0

This release is compatible with BS 1.22.2 - 1.25.1 for PC. No Quest release available.

Additions:

  • Added support for the new built-in map editor. The video will still have to be initially set up from the WIP maps section of the game, but after that it will play in the editor. Hot-reloading for environment modifications is also supported in the editor. Thanks to shad for testing this feature.
  • The video now fades out instead of freezing at the last frame when the video ends (also when the endVideoAt point is reached, if configured)
  • Small modifications to PyroEnvironment (completing the missing piece of scaffolding and moving the stage lights in front of the screen)
  • Detect the most common errors that lead to videos not showing up and suggest fixes to the player via a message in the UI

Fixes:

  • Fixed video downloads sometimes getting stuck at 100% when they finish during a scene transition (Thanks to @Meivyn for both reporting the issue and verifying the fix)
  • Fixed video previews for the most recently selected map playing in the BetterSongSearch menu (Thanks to @Auros for reporting this in #52)
  • Fixed menu lighting no longer working after applying settings

1.5.2

This release is compatible with BS 1.21.0 - 1.24.0 for PC. No Quest release available.

Additions:

  • The video screen now lights up the environment. This is most noticeable in the main menu and environments like BTS or Dragons. Thanks to @kinsi55 for advice about how to calculate the average color from the video frame.
  • Improved download progress feedback, as well as feedback about errors that may occur during the download.
  • The mod now better recovers from syntax errors when the user is manually editing the json file of the video while the map is loaded. In most cases fixing the error should now make the video show up again without having to resume/pause or even reload the map.
  • Added support for the EDM environment

Fixes:

  • Fixed video preview showing up in some cases where it shouldn't
  • Hide the FOB logo in the Pyro environment which was covering the screen
  • The video screen is now properly disabled when no video is playing
  • Fixed a rare bug that could lock up the game if loading a video config failed. Also took steps to limit the amount of damage errors like this can cause.
