Lots of playtesting and small fixes and improvements. Notably:

  • A fix for the "couldn't determine outcome" errors during battle.
  • Improving game world by making buildable locations only be spawned by towns - thus giving both towns and the wilderness more personality; reducing redundancy and location spam; and providing more space for new stuff

Thanks to Derp's reports regarding:

  1. Minigames now working again
  2. Fix has been applied when a monster who has no mêlée attacks tries to Charge (including Lantern Archon)
  3. Poison and later detox should now not alter unit's permanent HP anymore (for real this time, no hacks!)
  4. Encoding errors
  5. Combat Expertise maneuvers only registering when being upgraded (Grapple, Defensive Attack, Trip and Feint)
  6. Monsters receiving more HP than correct (especially at higher HD counts)
  7. Rapid Shot attack sequences not updating after first being created

First public beta release for Javelin 1.7! This has been in the making for over a year, on-and-off so any help with testing and feedback will be much appreciated :)

Here's the major changes from 1.6:

  • 4 mini-games: Arena, Battlefield, Dungeon Rush and Ziggurat!
  • City management redesign, with 7 city traits and 36 projects!
  • Scenario mode!

  • New locations: natural resources, Assassins Guild and Deep Dungeon
  • Introducing 6 Haunt locations
  • Infiltrate hostile locations
  • World map fog-of-war
  • More responsive user-interface during battles
  • Multi-threaded world generation
  • 5 new character kits
  • Auto-attack using the Tab key

Windows users: one of our initial testers had some trouble with the game screen on Windows 10 but we seem to have resolved it. If it happens to you (on Windows 10 or any other version or system) please let us know, thanks!!

Save-compatible with 1.7b1. Makes enemies more likely to run away from a losing battle instead of just trying to avoid the player in-battle when they are losing.
